I received a B.A. degree from Emmanuel College, a M.A.T. degree from Rhode Island School of Design, and taught art in the Ellington and Hartford, CT public school systems. I paint in watercolor and oil en plein air attempting to capture the light and movement found in nature and began painting Vermont landscapes over forty years ago with renowned watercolor artist, Claude Croney, whose bold and spontaneous watercolors intrigued and fascinated me. The fluidity and directness of the watercolor medium were a perfect match to my own nature. Painting directly and on the spot with watercolors allows me the freedom to be creative and interpretive. I also love to paint still life subjects. I paint on Monhegan Island, ME in the summer where the effect of light on rock, sea, and untouched wilderness is spectacular. I exhibit my work in juried shows mostly in New England..
Watercolor painting has been my primary medium since I remember painting, and oil painting came later...
Being asked about my artistic vision is like asking a child why they like something...
